Richard Pooley, President
Graduated with honors, the first in his class, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida, College of Architecture. He then returned to the University of Florida to complete a Master of Science Degree in Construction Management and served as an instructor at his alma mater during his time in post-graduate studies. Mr. Pooley also received a research grant from Mid-Florida Mining to study the benefits of using fly ash (a byproduct of the phosphate industry) as a concrete additive.
A State of Florida Licensed general contractor, Unlimited. Mr. Pooley has extensive experience in commercial and residential construction. Having formed Pooley Enterprises, Inc. in 1972, the Company specializes in the medical, hotel, resort, and restaurant industry. He is recognized by the State of Florida’s civil courts as an expert in his field. In that capacity he has assisted several law firms in evaluating problems related to construction and development, preparing case material and providing expert testimony before the courts.
Mr. Pooley is a standing member of the Southern Building code Congress International, which is responsible for preparing and updating the Standard building Code that is used throughout the southeastern United States.
Mr. Pooley remains active in the general oversight of the Company’s operations.
Gary Ameral, Chief Executive Officer
Gary previously served ten years with Pooley Enterprises, Inc. as Vice President of Operations, returned in 2017 to serve as Chief Executive Officer.
His professional thirty year construction management and operational experiences have been partnered with various high-profile clients and properties demanding the highest levels of quality, performance, and safety. He graduated with dual Bachelor of Science degrees from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, Massachusetts in both Construction Management and Building Construction Technology.
An accomplished construction management professional, Gary has a proven record with direct hands-on experiences on hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of construction from hundreds of projects where customer service, integrity, enthusiasm, and strong work ethics are valued. Skilled in a diverse blend of planning, design, construction, and owner’s rep. experiences. Accomplished in high-pressure leadership situations acting as conduit for all parties via team building, developing partnerships, and building positive rapport with clients, design teams, contractors, vendors, and local officials. Gary has accumulated an extensive portfolio of a variety of project types and delivery systems, costs, and sizes, including widespread theme park projects.
Directly accountable and responsible for many aspects of project and operational management, including: business development and creating new business alliances and partnerships, P&L, growing sales, marketing, client relations, litigation mitigation, industry networking, accounts receivables and payables, cost and time controls management, capital planning, budgeting, design, preconstruction services, contractor and vendor selections, contract negotiations, scheduling, project management, site management and supervision, quality control and assurance, safety, and staff procurement, development, training and supervision.
